The world needs Powerful Voices, now more than ever

I try my best to keep things light and breezy here on the blog with you all. I don’t shy away from the hard topics either, and let’s be honest with one another, there seems to be a lot more of those around these days.

The world can be a hard place, and amid the start of the importance Black History Month, I got inspired to share with you all about how Canada Goose is teaming up with Giants of Africa again. Because the world needs more powerful voices helping to drive change, visibility & inclusion.

My schedule unfortunately didn’t allow me the pleasure of attending tonight’s Canada Goose x Giants of Africa: Powerful Voices Event in Toronto but I will be living vicariously through some of my favourite creators. And of course via Canada Goose as a brand that I have loved for almost as long as I’ve been blogging and hope to work much more closely with in 2025!

Giants of Africathe not-for-profit youth basketball organization founded by Toronto Raptors Vice-Chairman Masai Ujiri, to bring this collection to life.

“Inspired by the Sauti Kuu basketball court in Alego, Kenya, built under Giants of Africa’s 100-court initiative, the Powerful Voices Collection is a four-piece capsule that celebrates the dreams and resilience of youth in the community.”

All pieces are designed with a striking pattern that pays homage to Kenya’s vibrant culture and the spirit of community. Reflecting the energy and resilience of African youth, the collection includes an Insulated Bomber, Hoody, Cargo Pant, and Arctic Toque.

The importance of the collaboration is that 100% of proceeds will be donated to Giants of Africa to support their mission of inspiring positive change.

As mentioned, we live in a world where this a lot of noise and disruption. But if we focus our attention towards progress, inclusion, change, and bettering ourselves in small waves, I do believe that we can make the world a more beautiful place like this collaboration is.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. If you’re not already, follow me on all social media platforms at @dothedaniel as I share in real time these adventures and so much more!

Don’t forget to be kind & a little more honest with yourself this year
