In an effort to continue the positivity that has led up to the new year, I wanted to take a moment to sit down and share why this is going to be the year that I make my life easier. The Kitchen Is The Heart Of The Home

The Holidays are finally over, but the celebrations have continued into the new year for my family and I! Yep, our favorite time of the year isn’t over yet – when everything is all about love and sharing, reflecting on our actions, making resolutions for the year to come and of course, eating like there’s no tomorrow. It was the season to forget about your fitness program, or at least not feeling guilty about putting it on standby mode, cause: you’re totally allowed to do that! At least in Mexico, the Holidays come with lots of Office Christmas Parties, friends’ reunions, family dinners and more. So no matter your beliefs or how you celebrate the Holidays, we can all agree with something: It’s all about the food. Starting off 2019 I was reminded that the kitchen is the heart of the home – and I am so grateful for the reminder.

Not Just Your Basic… Salad

There are moments when hunger hits and finding a healthy food option in a time crunch is really needed. With limited lunch hours, tiny breaks in between classes and a short window for dinners – I’m keen on finding ease with my meals.  A healthy dish can sometimes seem boring and uninviting to the eye which, in the past, unfortunately made me afraid of eating good food outside of my own kitchen. That’s why I’m so excited about having Mad Radish as my go-to spot in Ottawa for nutritious and creative meals!

The closer we get to the holidays, the more I am excited to be able to catch up with friends and family. My freezer and fridge are full of food ready to be transformed into sumptuous meals and memories. My bar is stocked with beautiful bottles ready to be opened and popped.
