What Does Pride Mean To You Today?

Having celebrated Pride Month with Pride Toronto, Fierte in Montreal and now looking towards an exciting Capital Pride in Ottawa, I found myself sitting down to ask myself what Pride means to me in the world we live today. Yes it’s a lot of fun and can make for fabulous memories with queer people around the world, but there is also a weight to that question that should be acknowledge. So let’s take a minute to chat about that together in hopes of sparking conversations and moving the world forward instead of backwards.

C’Mon Barbie, Let’s Go Party!

It is no shock that this blog is essentially a Barbie fangirl page – over the years I’ve spoken about how as a little boy my Jem and The Holograms Barbie was my favourite toy, and let’s be honest, Barbie to this day at the toy and brand that speaks to so many of us in different ways. From our collection of Barbies and the dolls from the extended family, this blog and our home will forever preach the importance of inclusivity and diversity that we’ve seen over the years with my favourite blonde bombshell.

Recently it seems as though Barbie is back to IRL events along with us all and I simply had to tell you about some of my personal favourite collaborations to inspire your pink fantasy!

Not EXACTLY How I Saw This Year Going

As with most of my more vulnerable and honest blog posts, I am often back and forth on if I want to hit publish at all. While I love that I can sit here and share (sometimes too much ) with you my darling reader, the vulnerability it takes to pull the curtain back and share the whole picture is at times overwhelming.

I want to say that everything in my life is perfect and it’s all smiles and big pay cheques with brand partners, but in reality it’s far from that. And I am sitting at my dinning room table in July of 2022 feeling like I’ve failed in several ways this year and all over again.

Let’s Take a Walk Down Memory Lane

I almost always laugh when I see memes about bloggers and how they take you on a long winded story before they get to the point of the blog post or the recipe they are sharing – you know the ones! While I know that I can be long winded I do hope that if you’re sitting down to read this right now it’s because I bring a certain pizaz to my writing that you enjoy and that resounds with you. Be it your first time on the blog or you’ve been with me since day one nine and a half years ago. Well my friends, today I’m going to embody that stereotype for the purpose of giving you a glance into who I was many moons ago vs who I am today and you’ll understand why we took a walk down memory lane.
