The Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards is one of the best events in Ottawa each year. On May 30th, some of the biggest names in the performing arts will gather at The National Arts Centre in Ottawa to celebrate the achievements of this year’s recipients. In full gala attire, Amanda & I will be taking part in the evening’s festivities while reporting back on the highlights. But, the most exciting part is that you can join us too with tickets now available for purchase!
Growing up in Canada as a regularly performing musician, I can truly appreciate the need to acknowledge our creative talents for their hard work. Performance and artistic expression takes a lot of technical skill combined with tireless passion. We imprint our hearts into music, splash them onto paintings, spread them across theatre floors and scribble them onto endless pages. This, is what makes us tick and what makes us not just amongst the living, but alive.
This year’s recipients included the talented Atom Egoyan, Walter Boudreau, Diana Leblanc, R. H. Thomson, Michael Koerner, Jean-Marc Vallée & Sarah McLachlan. Amid the performances, cocktails and reception, we are excited to be a part of this spectacular evening!
