Put down the phone & pick up a book.

Did you know that April 23 marks #WorldBookDay? I didn’t. But that’s because I’m usually lost in social media on my phone, taking calls or answering emails. If you’re like me, that sounds pretty familiar. It’s why when Amazon asked me to come join them for their #LoveToRead event in Toronto, I quickly came to realize that I needed to disconnect in order to truly reconnect. When I stopped to think about where and when I #LoveToRead, I wanted to share some of them with you in hopes that you’ll share with us in the excitement leading up to World Book Day around the world! 

When you stop to think about reading, what comes to mind? For me, it’s vacations and taking a long bubble bath with a glass of bubbly.

So why is it that we don’t allow ourselves that relaxation on a more regular basis? One thing that always makes me smile when walking Canela or just taking a stroll to stretch my legs is finding little libraries. Have you seen these before? A take a book, leave a book honour system allows for strangers to share their love of reading with their neighbourhood.
