Travel & Lifestyle | Reliving one of our favourite events – Ford Canada’s #FordTryMore

As the fall settles in and we prepare ourselves for the final few months of 2015 at DoTheDaniel.com, I am left remembering some of my favourite moments from the year. We’ve had the opportunity to travel the world and share with you some of the best events Canada has to offer. Of all the events we’ve attended, The Ford Canada #FordTryMore weekend in Montreal was one of the best. Along with a brand we love and contest winners from across the country, we were lucky enough to have one of a kind experiences with some of the best vehicles in the Ford Canada family. Come take a look at our behind the scenes moments and why we are still smiling!

I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since our #FordTryMore experience in Montreal! Time flies when you’re having fun they say. Since then, we’ve been working with and sharing in the excitement that Ford Canada has to offer. Being that they have our favourite vehicles to drive, it’s no wonder why you could say we are obsessed. Be it from Catherine’s healthy getaway or our #FordFiesta adventure, it seems there is a vehicle suitable for any lifestyle.

So what was the #FordTryMore / #FordFautEssayer weekend all about? We took a plane from Toronto to Montreal for a celebration of what #FordTryMore really means – celebrating that alongside the right vehicle, driving is so much more with Ford Canada.

Another day, another flight. See you soon @montreal ✈ #FordTryMore

As I’m sure you would have seen across the country in major Canadian cities, team Ford Canada had been creating unique experiences such as paddle boarding and axe throwing. Contest winners from these activities were then invited to join together in Montreal for a weekend full of experiences to thrill the senses.

We arrived in the city of my birth (yes, I was actually born in Montreal and was SO excited to be back after far too long) and headed to Le Westin Montreal to check in and get settled. This beautiful hotel in the heart of Old Montreal was the perfect home base for a weekend we won’t ever forget.

Julio & I had some time to explore the city and enjoyed a romantic dinner at an off the beaten path restaurant. There is something so magical about Montreal. You can see what I mean by checking out Amanda’s recent family travel feature here.

The next morning we woke nice and early and headed to rendez-vous our fellow attendees. After a delicious and nutritious breakfast, we boarded our shuttle bus to Circuit iCAR. The entire facility was transformed into the Ford Try-Athlon where experiences tailored around the exceptional technology and vehicle features Ford Canada has to offer were taken to a whole new level. Take a look at the official videos that were filmed during our experience below to see what I mean!

From Try More Bowling, where I literally got a chance to drive a car into a giant bowling ball in hopes of knocking down the larger than life pins, to the interactive art exhibit all 100 participants helped to create with water guns and balloons full of paint… the entire day was full of laughter and a love for Ford Canada. Active Park Assist was probably one of the coolest features that day and Julio was convinced our car was an autobot by the time it parked our vehicle for us.

My personal favourite moment would have to be when I got to drive a Ford Fiesta around an actual race track and put the pedal to the metal, pushing my driving skills to their limit. I felt like a stunt driver by the end of the day and came to realize that when Julio & I decide to get a vehicle of our own, that it will be one from the Ford Canada family of vehicles. Be it to play Try More Bowling on our own time (I wonder where one rents the equipment…) or to travel to see our friends and family across the country, there is nothing these vehicles can’t do.

After a day of driving, learning and lots of laughing, it was time to party. Gathering at a top secret location, we were treated like celebrities. From the fresh oyster station to the live music, prizes for the day’s best social media and so much more… it was a night to remember for sure.

I think what I loved most was talking with contest winners from around the country and hearing how much they not only felt appreciated but also how much they loved their #FordTryMore experience. We danced, we ate and we celebrated with our new friends into the wee hours of the night.

Back to the hotel for a few hours of sleep and to enjoy the last little bit of time we had in Montreal. Unfortunately with our busy schedule, it was a very early morning for us to get back to Toronto. But as I sit here and relive the entire weekend with Ford Canada, I can’t help but smile.
