It’s that time of year again, when festive music floods the shopping malls, candy canes become garnish of choice in everything from Lattes to deserts to stocking stuffers, and though I moved to LA 2 years ago, the magic of the first snowfall still makes me “ooo” and “aww” in wonder.
THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!!
And any good festive season is accompanied by wonderful people, delicious feasts and delicious wines. Now, for those who know me, I’m a foodie at heart. I love eating great food with great friends and complementing it all with some great wine.
I have put together some great seasonal recommendations from Banfi Wines that are sure to have the room toasting to you well past the New Year!
NATURA 2014 – Cabernet Sauvignon
I love everything organic, and this wine is just that! This is a beautiful everyday wine, perfect to bring to any occasion and easy to drink.
For the wine lovers out there, it has a medium to full body with medium acidity. It was dry with a well-rounded finish. And if I can get real deep, it has a fruity taste with floral notes. DELICIOUS!
CASTELLO BANFI 2009 – SUMMUS 2009
If you’re a lover of full body wines, you’ll enjoy this. This Summus has a blend of 40% Sangiovese, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Syrah. This is where is draws is full body from.
For pairing I would enjoy this with a great steak and creamy risotto. Yummmm.
I was not ready for the burst of flavour with this one. To describe it in three words: Bubbly, Refreshing and Light.
I wouldn’t classify this as a desert wine, but if you’re looking for an easy red wine with a little pop this is a great one to pick up.
LOVE this one! I rarely have sparkling wine, and to be honest it brings me back to high school and all the wine spritzers I use to drink. Why did I ever stop? Lol
This has a very distinctive strawberry nose with hints of honey. It’s very bubbly as delicious and a great wine to open to kick off any engagement or holiday party!
