Where have the polar bears gone

Being that I call Toronto home, I found myself talking about how mild this winter has been and how great that has been. But the fact remains that this isn’t necessarily a good thing in the large scheme of things either. The world is changing, and therein, getting warmer. And as lovely as it may be for those of us Canadians who have bore the brunt of -45 degrees celsius, habitats around the world and the animals that call them home are having to adapt or disappear altogether. Recently we partnered with Polar Ice Vodka on their #SaveOurSeaIce campaign in support of Polar Bears International to shed some light on this alarming fact. And yes, there IS something we can do about it.

What would happen one day if you woke up and your home was gone. Without warning. Without reason.

Okay, that might be a tad dramatic. But what about if something you had come to know and love simply vanished? I think that was part of the thought process behind taking away the iconic Polar Ice Vodka polar bear in support of the #SaveOurSeaIce campaign on the limited edition bottles. To show that the the polar bear could disappear from your favourite bottle of vodka just like it is in Northern Canada at such an alarming rate.

WHO DOESN’T LOVE POLAR BEARS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD?!

The fact remains that 60% of the 26,000 polar bears around the world live in Canada. And yes, that means that our actions as Canadians directly affect these majestic creatures. I know that I don’t like to entertain the idea of raising our future with the idea that once upon a time Polar Bears existed. There are so many environmental steps that need to be taken, but in the interim while our political leaders hopefully make the right decision for the climate, it is important to support causes such as Polar Bears International. One easy way to do that is to pick up YOUR limited edition #SaveOurSeaIce bottles and to show your support by helping to spread the message on social media along with us. The more we share, the more we can bring awareness to a very real Canadian problem.

Both Polar Ice Bearless Bottles will help to support an important cause all leading up to International Polar Bear Day on February 27th, at which point you’ll want to stay tuned to our social media channels for another amazing way YOU can help us give to this incredible cause thanks to Polar Ice Vodka. I encourage you to head to www.polarice.ca/bearless-bottle to learn more about this important cause and how you too can help! To join in the social media conversation with us across the country, make sure to follow @PolarIceVodka on Twitter & Instagram and ‘Like’ Their Facebook Page. Share your thoughts, cocktails and inspiration to support by using #SaveOurSeaIce hashtag!
