What The #OLGDreamDeck Is All About

It’s in full swing – The Toronto International Film Festival has taken over the city of Toronto and the energy is palpable. From the place and faces of #TIFF19 that I recently shared with you, festival street is officially happening and it seems wherever you turn you’re going to see something TIFF related. In conjunction with the excitement, I’ve partnered with Ontario Lottery, presenter of the #OLGDreamDeck at the TIFF Bell Lightbox rooftop at #TIFF19 to bring you exclusive and intimate access to TIFF’s innovative filmmakers and creators!

So first thing’s first, what is the #OLGDreamDeck you ask?

Why it’s the best seat in the house on the TIFF Bell Lightbox rooftop of course! Perched high above Festival Street, OLG (Ontario Lottery & Gaming) will present seven intimate panel discussions from September 6 – 9 within the Malaparte space (6th floor) featuring on-screen and behind-the-camera talent and we’d love for you to join us. These unique, up-close opportunities will engage some of the festival’s most coveted actors, innovative filmmakers and creators in robust 30 – 45 minute intimate discussions about film, bringing you behind the scenes of their journey and dreams in getting to present day at TIFF!

What makes these experiences so distinct is that they will be in an intimate setting with some of the biggest names in cinema – and I get to bring you along with me on social media! Should you want to join in, make sure to follow @dothedaniel on your favourite social media platform and of course use and follow the #OLGDreamDeck hashtag all festival long!

The three panels I will be attending this year include:

Friday September 6th @ 11am – Director Amy Jo Johnson (of Pink Power Range fame – ps totally going to fan girl at this one!) will be speaking about her TIFF film “Tammy’s Always Dying.” which is one of the films I’m most excited for this year!

Saturday September 7th @ 1pm – Director and Film Star Gael Garcia Bernal will be here to talk about staring in Pablo Larraín’s Ema and Olivier Assayas’ Wasp Network. I may have a GIGANTIC crush on him, and of course based on his fame as a Latino actor, Julio is excited to attend with me.

Third, Sunday September 8th @ 4pm – the 2019 TIFF Rising Stars will gather together to talk about their careers, their films, and what TIFF means to them. This one is sure to be spectacular!

In no particular order: Shamier Anderson, Kacey Rohl, Nahéma Ricci, Mikhaïl Ahooja, Chino Darín, Geraldine Viswanathan, Josefine Frida &
Kelvin Harrison Jr.
– I cannot wait to celebrate you all!

This of course is just one of the reasons I love sharing in the excitement of all things Ontario Lottery. Make sure to join in on the excitment by following @OntarioLottery & @TIFF_NET and use the #OLGDreamDeck, #TIFF19 & #TIFFRisingStars hashtags!
