When you close your eyes and dream of your happy place, where is it? Who are you with? And what are you doing (or not doing)? For me, I’m near the ocean soaking in the sunshine, spending time with the people I love. I’m laughing, having fun and chilling out to the max amount possible. That’s why it was a no-brainer when Gracie and I decided to book a trip down south with Sunwing Vacations for 5 relaxing days at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Oh heck to the yes.
The holidays are an exciting time for everyone. From planning the perfect meal, to shopping for your loved ones, it’s all quite magical. But when I find a gift that not only puts a smile on the face of that special someone, but ALSO makes a difference in the world, it’s even better! That’s why this year I am picking up a few bottles of the limited edition (BELVEDERE)RED in support of The Global Fund, to fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. Lately I’ve been looking back on some of my favourite Christmas memories while growing up. Every year, my Dad would be the one to “play Santa”, handing out gifts to us one at a time when the time came. He used to pride himself in saying that each gift he handed out from under the tree was “A NEW CAR!” The joke now continues with my brother and his growing family, and even Julio joins in on saying it now. They all know it used to drive me crazy, but now I smile every time because it is a fond memory that I hold dear. My mom would be in charge of the stockings, and every year we could expect a few staple items to be waiting for us on Christmas morning in them. One of those things that I look forward to every year is getting a box of Ferrero Rocher. As an adult, they now remind me of the holidays and savoring each of them for as long as I could once the box was opened.
