A Holiday Back Home to New Zealand

It might finally be summer in the UK, but I was lucky enough to escape for a few weeks of sunshine in my homeland, just as the snow was falling in Londontown. It had been just over two years since I had been back to New Zealand, and I was itching to see my family and friends, as well as explore a few new places along the way. For those of you who didn’t know, I grew up in New Zealand, moved into 2 or 3 different private house rentals in West Auckland going from various jobs, then took the big step to move to the UK. I like to come home every year so I was very excited to get back to see everyone.

Travel & Lifestyle | Church Road Wine Tour

Take me to Church: Church Road that is!
 
The past few days on the central North Island of New Zealand were full of cold and stormy weather that saw us looking for any indoor activities. We watched films, played on some of New Zealand’s best online casino sites, and cooked up a storm in the kitchen. Thankfully though, the weather cleared and the day dawned bright, clear and hot: finally some heat on my summer holiday! After a quick breakfast in Taupo, My friend Marion and I head to the Hawkes Bay for what was to be the highlight of our week-long-North-Island trip. We are off to Church Road for a tour of their winery and a wine-paired lunch. To say that I was excited would be a serious understatement.

Travel & Lifestyle | Cheese, Art, a Castle and Some Boats: A Weekend in Switzerland

There is a myth in local government, that work slows down over the summer. Everyone gets out of London and there is very little to do. How I wish that this myth was true. However, it is not and after twenty days straight of working, I was looking forward to a mini break. I chose to get out of London and visit Switzerland, a country that I have never been too before.

Travel & Lifestyle | Not all those who wander are lost

I have always wanted to travel. From a very young age, when my Aunt was abroad, living and working in London, I knew that I wanted to do it too. There is something magical about London and I just couldn’t wait to grow up and put routes down there. I thought that it sounded glamourous and exciting, to be able to see more than just New Zealand. My cousins and I used to love receiving parcels from her for our birthdays and Christmas. We would see the distinctive writing on the parcel and know that it was from her.
