Whilst the delights are enticing, there is so much more to this fascinating city and it’s surrounds. There is a reason that you will mostly find tourists in the Red Light District, the locals have something more exciting to do, and with Amsterdam being a European City of Culture, there is a little something to excite everyone.

Putting Pen To Paper For a Good Cause

There is something so wonderful about putting pen to paper. I journal often to sort out my often jumbled thoughts. I scribble notes in packages that I send to my family in New Zealand. I write long rambling letters to friends. I used to write awful poetry as a teenager. For a long time, my Mum kept my school notebooks. I still write meeting notes in a notebook. I still keep a paper diary. These things are strange in this modern world of blogging and technology, of Instagram, pictures and the digital world where we can sign documents online without having to put out pen on paper! Yet, there is something comforting and nostalgic about the little things, just like this paper diary!

It’s Not Sparkling Water, It’s Sparkling Fruitwater

I don’t know about you guys, but I am little jeals of the swag bags that were available at the DTDxSpaces Rooftop Launch at Spaces Queen West in Toronto. And the food and drink stations look amazing! There was one gem that caught my eye, given that I am on a health kick and have the sweetest of sweet teeth, and that was the Fruitwater from Glaceau. They set up a water bar at the event for those seeking an alternative to alcohol, but who were still looking to have some fun options!

A City That Mixes Modern and Historic

If you follow along with either mine or Do The Daniel’s Insta stories, then you most likely know that by day, I work for the Council in the UK and one of my projects is the ground breaking Pop Brixton. As part of this work I have been consulting on a similar project in York, which opened earlier this month called Spark:York. It was due to this exciting opening, that I headed to York for a whirlwind 24 hours and thanks to Visit York, got to see some amazing things.
