It’s that time of year again – The Toronto International Film Festival is back, and this year marks its 50th anniversary which is has the city buzzing with excitement! As I ramp up for a busy schedule with red carpets, screenings, events, gifting lounges and so much more, I want to share the details of some of the hottest events taking place this year so you have the inside scoop!
Over the years since the pandemic, TIFF has been getting back to its glory, and this year at 50 years old, it feels like it is going to be bigger than ever. I am lost in a sea of invites and opportunities, and I know that I will be riding around the city like a star bringing you all with me in real time on social media.
Ahead of the excitement, I simply had to tell you about the highly anticipated and much coveted invite I received to Toronto Life and HELLO! Canada are thrilled to announce their return of the premier kickoff soiree, Hollywood North presented by Rogers, an Official TIFF Event. That’s not to brag, but rather to tell you I was honoured to be considered important enough to be a part of something this fabulous!
The exclusive, star-studded affair will take place on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at The Sutton Place Hotel Toronto & Abrielle, an Official TIFF Hospitality Partner, from 7 p.m. to midnight. This year’s gala holds special significance, marking 50 years of TIFF’s role in celebrating international and Canadian cinema. The Hollywood North Party brings together A-list celebrities, influential filmmakers and industry leaders for an unforgettable evening.
Adding to the excitement, the event celebrates the launch of Toronto Life’s “The Movie Issue,” featuring Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds on the cover. This special commemorative edition is a tribute to the festival’s past five decades, honouring the iconic moments and the legends who created them.
