A Truly Toronto Hotel Experience

As most of you may know, I covered the 2017 IHEARTRADIO MMVAs this year on behalf of the blog. It was honestly one of the biggest events within the media that I have had the pleasure and opportunity to attend. I was extremely excited of course, but also very stressed. Originally, I was worried about my commute as my place in Toronto is located all the way in “Narnia” (AKA by Kipling Station #humbernorthproblems). The problem with living in that area is that the commute isn’t always reliable. Sometimes it can take me 40 minutes to get downtown by transit, and other times it has taken me two hours because of traffic, delays, or other random unfortunate Toronto-related circumstances.

Thanks to our wonderful partnership Marriott International, I was given the opportunity to stay within the heart of downtown Toronto at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, which is about a 4 minute walk to where the IHEART RADIO MMVAs took place downtown on Queen St. West.

My boyfriend (who also happens to be my talented photographer) and I arrived on Saturday afternoon and received instant and friendly service from the valet and check-in staff. There was a small line-up, but it moved quickly and our service was still efficient and enjoyable.

Travelling anywhere downtown can be an issue if you’re driving. So whether you’re coming in from out of town or planning a staycation, you can find a full list of options for parking in the area, including a full valet service with the hotel. The Sheraton Centre Toronto also boasts a full 24 hour fitness centre and the largest indoor-outdoor pool in downtown Toronto!

When we arrived in our room, which had a beautiful view of the city, we knew it was just right for the two of us. We ordered room service (because, food) and it came to our room so fast! Not only was the service timely, but the food was delicious and worthy of some snaps. We were treated so well and felt comfortable right away.

Being who I am, I usually forget something when I’m travelling. This time was a big one though – my laptop. LUCKILY, the beautiful lobby of the hotel has an amazing business centre, called the Link@Sheraton with high-speed internet (basically my saviour), so I didn’t have to work off of my phone the entire time.

One thing I was worried about was noise and not getting a good sleep before my MMVA day because of how central the hotel is located. This was not an issue at all! Surprisingly, it was very quiet. So if you’re questioning this location because of the standard cacophony of Toronto sounds – don’t worry! I slept perfectly in my luxurious hotel bed and woke up peacefully, ready to take on the day.

I think the best part is the location – just being in the centre of everything. For instance, on the afternoon before the awards, I had to run over to the Eaton Centre to grab some last minute accessories from Le Chateau to go with my dress from Muche et Muchette. It was was literally a 5 minute walk – so convenient! The hotel is also connected to both the financial and entertainment districts by way of the PATH, a 16 mile underground network of shops and services. It’s such a relief to be so close to everything, in a beautiful hotel, while not having to worry about a long commute with delays because basically everything is within walking distance.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to The Sheraton Centre Toronto for making this a wonderful #MMVAs weekend. I had an amazing time and it was a large part of what made this experience so perfect overall.

From Toronto with Love,
