Events | ACCIONA & National Geographic Channel are bringing an important message to Canadians

Recently we had the pleasure of being invited to an exclusive event in Toronto to celebrate the launch of new episodes of National Geographic Channel’s “Years of Living Dangerously” in Canada in conjunction with ACCIONA. I believe that now, more than ever, it is important to understand that the world and our climate is changing. Canadians are in need of a way to understand climate change, and this series is the perfect way to do just that.

“ACCIONA and National Geographic’s shared commitment to sustainability and environmental protection is the basis of their collaboration. Their joint action aims to raise awareness of real alternatives to global warming and provide solutions, with the support of individuals and businesses playing a crucial role. … the series features Hollywood celebrities, producers and journalists who unite in the awareness-raising campaign about the surrounding effects of climate change. They include: Jack Black, Gisele Bündchen, Ty Burrell, Don Cheadle, America Ferrera, Thomas Friedman, Joshua Jackson, David Letterman, Aasif Mandvi, Nikki Reed, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ian Somerhalder, Cecily Strong, Sigourney Weaver and Bradley Whitford.

Each Hollywood celebrity will share their personal stories surrounding climate change around the globe. Each episode of the series shows specific examples of the fundamental problem of global warming and the huge impact it has on the daily routines of people, as well as the large-scale damage caused by hurricanes, deforestation, energy crises, migration produced by natural disasters, desertification and biodiversity loss.”

There is something to be said for the conversation topic. Especially with the politics of the world and the ever changing landscape, the launch of #YEARSproject in Canada comes at a crucial point in time. I won’t get too preachy, but I encourage you to watch at least one episode of Years of Living Dangerously on National Geographic and not feel compelled to learn more. The world is changing faster with each new day. I guarantee that this change can be positive if you simply stop to listen and pay attention to the bigger picture with us.
