Thinking outside the box

As Julio & I continue our hunt for a new home, I have started to compile a list of things I would like to get us for the new space. Figuring out where to move is definitely a challenge since there are so many amazing properties out there. We even saw some amazing tiny homes, and you can check them out here, but we are definitely trying to find somewhere with a lot more room. From furniture for the added rooms (not yet a crib, but hopefully soon thereafter!) to appliances I never had the space for. Hopefully things like the windows will be fine, although we know we can get someone like grandjunctionwindow.com out to replace them, should we need or want to, but it’s definitely not something we’re planning to spend on. However, one of the items I will absolutely treat us to is a new television for our living room. Last year, our TV just stopped working, and we went through a long process of finding a suitable replacement, picking the right antenna, installing it in our living room… and then the replacement turned out to be less than great. While it wasn’t the best one on the market, I still thought it would be a better product than it turned out to be. So when we were introduced to the latest advancement in television technology and design earlier this year, I knew that I deserved the best on the market.

Now I am by no means a “techie” person. Specs have never meant much to me, but aesthetics and performance rank pretty high on my wishlist when looking at televisions. That being said, when we got a chance to see The Frame by Samsung Canada, to say I was impressed would be an understatement. Samsung has always produced some of the best home appliances in the world, and this is no exception to that.

It’s a funny thought to think that I am old enough to remember televisions being these big eye sores in the middle of the living room when I was growing up. Over the years, the technology has come so far, and The Frame is, in my opinion, the best option for our new home.

I’ve always been a fan of photo walls. They help to remind me of what is important in life. See ours in our current condo below.

So when we got the chance to see The Frame in person here in Toronto earlier this year, and it was set up amid a wall of art and photos, it made me smile. The integration of your home television into your life is now easier with this technology, and it is no longer something that takes away from a room, but rather adds to it with the art capabilities. I LOVE THAT.

“Owners of The Frame can access select art from David Burdeny via the Samsung Collection, a pre-loaded gallery boasting 100 pieces of artwork as part of an exclusive curation. Alternatively, the TV’s My Collection1 feature allows users to display their own artwork just as they would on paper, film or canvas. Similar to Callum Snape and Alexandre Champagne, Canadians can capture their own beautiful photographs, and have the flexibility to showcase their photos on The Frame at home.”

I can say with certainty that as I box up our things when we find a new home, I will be thinking outside of the box for our new television. And The Frame is just that. Something brand new to help showcase art, memories and make life just a little more beautiful for our ever growing family to come.
