My Lunar New Year Must Have Items – 恭喜发财

I remember the first time I heard a friend wish me 恭喜发财 (gōng xǐ fā cái) – and I came to learn about the lunar new year, I fell in love with the traditions. A rough translation meaning “Wishing you wealth and prosperity” (both of wish I could use more of in 2020) I thought that to celebrate I would share some beautiful lunar new year items that I am hoping to add to my life this year from brands Julio & I love.

A fun fact about The Year of The Monkey that I learnt while doing research is that lucky colours associated with the year in Chinese Astrology include gold & white – the same colours that adorn the logo of Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto.
