As Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” When it comes to health benefits, products from the hive are one of the simplest, yet most powerful way to protect your body. Humans have benefited from bees and their nourishing superfoods since prehistoric times. Bees produce products like honey, pollen and propolis that are loaded with minerals, enzymes and antioxidants. These products have a variety of functions to support optimal health; from improving sleep quality, to boosting energy and strengthening the immune system. Food For Your Gut

We’re in the thick of winter here in Canada, where there’s no locally grown produce in sight. I need to be honest – I miss fresh fruits and veggies. Shopping at the grocery store isn’t the same as heading to the farmers’ market to pick up fresh produce grown in a neighbouring town. If you live in a snowy climate, then you get where I’m coming from. My body craves these nutrients, but they’re more difficult to come by; that’s why I like to supplement with a greens or superfoods powder over the winter. They’re nutritionally dense and support many bodily functions including digestion, immunity and hormones. Plus, they always make my hair and nails healthier and I sleep better too.

A Wellness Weekend Away with Ford

Lately, I’ve been working overtime to keep up; juggling two full-time jobs, plus trying to stay on top of my health and fitness game isn’t easy. Most days, weekends included, I operate in overdrive. So I was ecstatic when I received the invite to attend a wellness weekend in Montebello, Quebec with Ford Canada. My body desperately craved some much needed rest and relaxation.
