My favorite time of the year is finally here! I’m talking about Halloween and Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). Wait… Halloween? You must think that it’s crazy that being a Mexican I love Halloween but you need to know that this pagan celebration has been around in Mexico for a long time now. I remember being a kid and taking on the streets disguised as Dracula, Batman or even KISS’ Gene Simmons with my cousins and friends and go trick-or treating every single house of the block. Although Halloween is not a Mexican tradition, it became part of our modern culture, mostly in major cities like Mexico City. Continue reading “Finding The Balance Between Traditions & Festivities”
Moments & Memories That Deserve To Be Celebrated
Over the past few years, I have come to appreciate the moments that I am lucky enough to share with you all more and more. I think that amid a busy schedule, writing blog posts, meetings and everything that goes into running the blog with Catherine, I sometimes got lost in the pace of it all. Since losing my Dad in 2016, and facing some health issues of my own, I am reminded how short life really can be and how it is important to cherish the beautiful moments because I never want to take anything (or anyone) for granted ever again. So when the team at Grand Marnier Canada recently invited me to celebrate #WeLiveGrand at Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Toronto, I knew it would be a magical night that I simply had to share with you. It also brought back beautiful memories of a brand that has been a part of my life for a very long time. Continue reading “Moments & Memories That Deserve To Be Celebrated”
Healing Yourself From The Inside Out
I believe in science. But I also believe in the varied and integrative facets of what science and can mean. And while I love to research and truly thrive on fact-based learning, I can also see beyond into the realm of the unknown. One that makes room for faith, intuition, and trust in oneself. That’s why the path to healing isn’t linear. Sometimes it’s trial and error, sometimes it’s blissful or painful, it can be rocky at times and smooth during others… but it’s always worth it.
Coming Out Of The Cannabis Closet
Well, I guess now is as good a time as ever to address the green elephant in the room. On October 17th, Cannabis will be legalized in Canada and it’s time we spoke about what that means. A not too dissimilar situation is occurring in Ohio. Although, it is only legal for an Ohio dispensary to provide marijuana for medicinal use. I like to think that over the years, with the help of our incredible Contributors and staff members, we’ve been able to dispel a lot of myths or preconceptions on some pretty controversial topics. Being that Cannabis is THE hot topic right now, I felt it important to address it as both a budding industry, coming to us coast-to-coast, but also as a conversation topic that we don’t need to be scared to talk about anymore. Some people have realized the health benefits of using cannabis substances such as CBD, and THC as well as trying their best to educate members of the public through places online as well as guides such as a guide to concentrates which looks at the different types of strains available and their effects and benefits. The age of vilified cannabis use is hopefully coming to an end, and thanks to the team at Emerald Health Therapeutics, I was recently able to educate myself properly on the subject matter. Now that I’ve had time to digest the information, I wanted to take the time to share this topic with all of you for the first time. October 17th is coming, whether you like it or not, so why wouldn’t we help to educate each other as best as we can? Continue reading “Coming Out Of The Cannabis Closet”
