Who doesn’t love to dress up every now and then, so you can go and get treated extra special for a day? So that’s why, on Saturday May 5th, I grabbed my friend Jenn and we headed off for a day at the races at Woodbine Race Track! With their 2nd Annual Derby Day in effect, we were given the opportunity to experience some live race-day action.
When I stop to think about the people who have made the biggest impact on my life, there are of course a handful that come to mind right away. But besides those beautiful members of my world, both near and far, it’s important to remember where it all started.
Where I learnt to be a good person. To give the world my best. To have hope against all odds. To be kind. To love unconditionally.

Moving into a new neighbourhood has been so much fun for Julio, Canela & I. I find a certain catharsis in the chaos of changing addresses when I have to switch our bills. This year marked the 47th year of the Juno Awards, which were hosted in my hometown of Vancouver British Columbia. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Junos, they are more than just an awards show – they’re a week long festival celebrating Canadian music that is hosted in a different city each year.
