11 11, make a wish

It’s been too long since I last signed in to touch base with you. Over the course of the last few months (or 2024 entirely, if I’m being honest) I’ve been struggling with the fact that as a writer who has always found strength in my words, I’ve been scared of them more than ever.

If I write them down and hit publish, they become real. They leave my overactive and often times catastrophizing mind. They express truths about my life that I am simultaneously embarrassed and ashamed of, sad for, angry at, and wishing were different.

The types of trips and traveling I’ve always dreamed of

Over the course of the last few weeks, I’ve been looking back on 2024 with a sense of gratitude and gratefulness. I think for the majority of the year, I’ve been guilty of not speaking kindly to and of myself. I’ve come to understand that it can be easy to get stuck in negative headspaces. Almost always in July or August, I was able to attend once or twice at most because I was booked or otherwise busy. This time centered around my brother Alex’s birthday mid August, this year we all started to talk about it VERY early and I committed to not booking anything for those few days so that I could attend the whole thing.

Spending time with niece, nephew, brother, sister-in-law, and #MamaSue has been a necessity in my life this year, and something I really have come to appreciate in an entirely new way. In a fabulous twist, we decided to switch up the destination (see you next year Mont-Tremblant. PS, call me and let’s collab) – and I wanted to share how I planned the PERFECT day for the whole family.

Be right back, I’m upgrading everything in my life

On a hot summer’s day I am looking forward to everything I am excited for this year. I am grateful for the lessons the first half of 2024 has offered, and for the reminder that I have earned the upgrades in life that I have at times denied myself. I’m making quite the grandiose statement, but if I’m being honest, as of late I think it’s important to acknowledge how far I have come in life and of the things I deserve.

So let’s talk about some of the upgrades I’ve been working on and towards in hopes that it helps to remind you that you deserve to do things for yourself and with yourself more as well.
