While it may feel as though we are going into week 432 of stay home measures, I am left feeling as though I may have finally found a grove that works for me. Every day feels a tiny bit more normal, and I am trying to remind myself to not be so hard on myself if I don’t write a novel and run a marathon each day.
Of course, the “hot topic” that a lot of us might not want to talk about is what effects being home 24/7 is having on our relationships. Spending this much time together may be forcing you to rediscover what you like and don’t like about one another. For Julio and I, it’s felt like a whirlwind of emotions to say the least. I woke up this morning and had a bit of an epiphany about my career as a blogger. Over the years, especially as a small business owner, I’ve had to often follow my instincts or guess when it comes to major decisions.
With little to no guidance, and being that I’m an emotional person, in doing so this process led me to make some mistakes. From reactionary tweets (we’ve all been there), to knee jerk reactions to feel as though I’d been wronged, I think we all understand that it is when we make mistakes that we learn the most about ourselves.
But amid the current reality we all live, maybe it’s time to accept that the past is behind us, and it’s time to move forward with a new sense of compassion and understanding. That’s how I’m trying to see the world and be with myself, my family, and the blog.
