A Weekend Away Fit For A King or Two

It’s the month of May and I am sitting down to write another chapter in the book I am working on, looking out the window wishing the sunshine would come back. In the city of Toronto, we have had what I can only describe as the most tenacious of winters and it just won’t seem to go away. That being said, with my new schedule and focus on the things I am working towards in my life, I get excited about weekends again. Those two beautiful days (or even better, three for a long weekend!) hold so much possibility and recently I had the pleasure of experiencing a pretty spectacular one that I would love to tell you a bit more about.

The Pursuit of Pura Vida with Sunwing Vacations

Recently I had the opportunity to join 8 other Canadian journalists from across the country to explore Costa Rica, and stay at the brand new Planet Hollywood Beach Resort for 5 days, with Sunwing Vacations. Starting in December 2018, Sunwing began offering DIRECT flights from Vancouver to Costa Rica for their Sunwing Vacation Packages – and now that the winter is here, I am thinking it’s time to head back.

Sunwing currently flies to Costa Rica from 7 airports in Canada. One of the things I love most about Sunwing Vacations is that they include flights, hotels and hotel transfers within their cost, streamlining the booking process so you can spend more time getting excited about your trip. I flew out a night early from Vancouver so I could get to Toronto and meet the group, before flying together to Liberia, Costa Rica on our Sunwing Flight the following morning. I wanted to make sure to showcase everything we were lucky enough to experience, so come along on my travel diary with me!

A Christmas Cocktail All The Way From Cologne

Christmas is one of my fav times of year.  I love being able to spend time with my closest family and friends, even if it is through facetime for my family so far away.  One thing that I had not experienced until I moved to the Northern hemisphere were Christmas Markets.  It’s simply too warm in NZ for these to have the atmosphere that they need.  These markets are all throughout Europe and have their own personality and verve. They are all slightly different and each year, when I visit a different one it puts me right in the Christmas mood. They begin in late November and go until Christmas Eve, they are outdoors, so crisp and cold, with a real winter feel to them.

Exploring European Culture In A Whole New (Red) Light

Babestation Live porn show, but the locals have something more exciting to do. With Amsterdam being a European City of Culture, there is a little something to excite everyone. (opens in a new tab)” href=”https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/see-and-do” target=”_blank”>Amsterdam, long known for being Europe’s capital of sex and drugs, has much more to offer than that. Let’s be honest, the first thing that comes to mind when we think of Amsterdam is the Red Light District and all of its delights. In previous centuries, it was known as a centre for trade with its many ports and guilds(read The Miniaturist for a great tale of these), things are slightly different these days. Whilst the delights are enticing, there is so much more to this fascinating city and it’s surrounds. There is a reason that you will mostly find tourists in the Red Light District, the locals have something more exciting to do, and with Amsterdam being a European City of Culture, there is a little something to excite everyone.
