Make It A #MoetMoment

With Catherine in Portugal, the #DTDteam around the world busier than ever, I am coming to realize that I love to be busy. I thrive in a loaded schedule with lots to juggle. But, let’s be honest, it’s also important to take time to unwind as well. To take a moment to enjoy the company of others, or even just have some much needed alone time. I haven’t taken a bath in MONTHS and I’m dying to… A glass of Moet, some music playing, and lots of bubbles. That sounds like heaven right about now.

Recently we had the pleasure of attending the launch party of  Moet Chandon Nectar Impérial Rosé – and unlike other events, this one reminded me to put my phone down and enjoy a great conversation with several friends all night long.  Continue reading “Make It A #MoetMoment”

The Gift That Keeps on Giving… and Giving

Valentine’s Day has long been one of my favourite holidays. Originally as a child because it was about buying paper valentines for my classmates and getting chocolate from my mom. And then as an adult, for more “adult” reasons of course, seriously if you’re not understanding what I could possibly mean, you might want to use this useful source or another adult site you can find online. It may be cheesy to some, but I love the idea of sharing love in special ways. From fancy boxes of chocolate, long stem red roses (a rekindled favourite), to bubbly with the one you love, there is something incredibly romantic about the 14th of February. But let’s be honest, it’s also about what happens behind closed doors. So ladies & gentlemen, let’s talk about sex. Continue reading “The Gift That Keeps on Giving… and Giving”

Surprise! We’re moving into our new home for the holidays!

Over the last few months, you’ve been following our story as Julio and I spent months navigating the Toronto housing market in collaboration with Engel & Vo?lkers. Our mission: to find a family-friendly unit that would be the perfect starter home for Canela, Julio and I as we expand our growing family (yes, you read that right!). We learned quickly that family-friendly units in Toronto are in short supply. Our real estate advisor, Shawn Blander, of Engel & Völkers Toronto Uptown proved to be an asset in a market that is really competitive right now, but we’ll get to that later. After months of searching, we’re SO excited to announce that we finally found the perfect home! Just in time to be the best Christmas present from ourselves to ourselves. I can’t wait until we can have a housewarming party so we can show our friends and family our new home. A couple of our friends have moved into a new house too and I’ve heard about a gift Source website where I can buy a fabulous gift for them and their new place. Continue reading “Surprise! Thinking outside the box

As Julio & I continue our hunt for a new home, I have started to compile a list of things I would like to get us for the new space. Figuring out where to move is definitely a challenge since there are so many amazing properties out there. We even saw some amazing tiny homes, and you can check them out here, but we are definitely trying to find somewhere with a lot more room. From furniture for the added rooms (not yet a crib, but hopefully soon thereafter!) to appliances I never had the space for. Hopefully things like the windows will be fine, although we know we can get someone like grandjunctionwindow.com out to replace them, should we need or want to, but it’s definitely not something we’re planning to spend on. However, one of the items I will absolutely treat us to is a new television for our living room. Last year, our TV just stopped working, and we went through a long process of finding a suitable replacement, picking the right antenna, installing it in our living room… and then the replacement turned out to be less than great. While it wasn’t the best one on the market, I still thought it would be a better product than it turned out to be. So when we were introduced to the latest advancement in television technology and design earlier this year, I knew that I deserved the best on the market. Continue reading “Thinking outside the box”
