Now, I’m pretty sure you’ve noticed by now that I have a thing for kid’s shoes. But I bet you didn’t know that Lyric’s very FIRST pair of shoes, were Converse! Pretty much as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I went online and ordered the smallest pair of Classic Converse Chuck Taylor‘s they make! Let me tell you.. they were ADORABLE! I remember getting them in the mail, opening them up and placing them on my (HUGE) belly in anticipation!

Family Lifestyle | TOMS

Lyric has now officially started full day school (insert LOTS of tears here), and while it’s been a HUGE transition, I think I’m finally starting to get into the swing of this new schedule! One of the things I learned during our intake interview was that Lyric would be changing his shoes about 8 times a day. EIGHT!?! And as we know, he doesn’t really like shoes, he’s a flip flop kid, so he doesn’t get a lot of practice putting shoes on. I immediately looked at his current shoe collection (remember that shopping problem from my previous post?), and got started on him taking them all on and off. Some were easier than others, and some were just not going to happen at all! One of the easiest pairs were TOMS!

Family Lifestyle | Surfs Up!

If you know me at all, you know that I wear flip flops ALMOST year round. As soon as I see a peek of grass in the spring, they’re on, and I don’t take them off until the snow sticks. Yep, it can be snowing and I’ll have my flip flops on, it has to actually stick and stay. What can I say? I’m a creature of comfort. So, of course being a single mom, and the primary influence on Lyric, he too loves his flip flops (and knows to coordinate them with his outfit)!! When I heard about Sanuk, a company that makes “shoes” using a sandal base, I was already sold! Sanuk is the Thai word for “fun” and it’s what the brand is all about!
