If you follow Do The Daniel on Snapchat or Instagram Stories (and if you don’t, you really should, we are hilarious), you will know that during the week I manage an awesome project called Pop Brixton. This is a brilliant container campus filled with street food start-ups and some retail. Two years on, a number of these restaurants and kiosks are beginning to expand, and for one of my favourites, Donostia Social Club, this is most definitely the case.
A Mini-Break in Achingly Cool Copenhagen
I have been wanting to visit Denmark for a very long time. It’s been on my hit list – and since I have been visiting Scandinavia a lot recently, it felt timely to head there next. So I grabbed my fav travel buddy Liam, picked up a great fly/stay deal through British Airways, and off we headed for culture mini-break.
Chasing the Sky
When you surprise someone, you want to do it properly. You want them to have no idea, to be stunned and to have that face of pure joy at the surprise. That was my face as I neared my seat, on a plane bound for Tromso, Norway, within the Arctic circle. You see, my travel buddy Liam had planned this trip from beginning to end. There were no clues. I had to lay out luggage for all eventualities – hot and cold, warm and freezing, and the rest was hidden from me. I was not allowed to know when I had to wake up until I was going to bed the night before and I was not allowed anywhere near the baggage.

There are really only two choices when you have an 11 hour stop over. You can be boring and find an airport cubicle, lie flat and get actual sleep – that will have eluded you on your 11 hour flight there…. OR you could be fun and head out into the city and see some of the sights. I will give you one guess which one I chose.
