Finding Balance in Buying Things for the Future

When I sat down to make my fall budget, I would never have imagined that on my way to my 36th birthday a few short weeks ago, I would be finally trying to plan a vacation before the end of 2019. It seems silly to say, but living on a budget while working towards a family with my husband has meant that a lot of my extravagant buying came to a halt this year. No more careless spending for me!

A Weekend Away Fit For A King or Two

It’s the month of May and I am sitting down to write another chapter in the book I am working on, looking out the window wishing the sunshine would come back. In the city of Toronto, we have had what I can only describe as the most tenacious of winters and it just won’t seem to go away. That being said, with my new schedule and focus on the things I am working towards in my life, I get excited about weekends again. As 2018 comes to an end and I get even more nostalgic (if that’s even possible), I am reflecting on the content and collaborations we have been a part of. The world is a chaotic place and this year I made a very conscious effort to no longer take to the internet to spread hate, hurt or harm anyone in my life. It might seem like that’s a given, but it seems as though many of us quickly (and callously) use our social media to spread negativity when we feel wronged. There is something to be said for keeping those things off the internet, and I wanted to tell you why I stopped complaining on the internet. Why You Should Invest in Quality Rest

For all of you that follow Do The Daniel on Instagram, you’ll know that for the past few months I have been really busy with prepping a move, moving and then furnishing my new apartment. I know this is something that almost all new tenants have to deal with but, when you’re moving into somewhere as stunning as Vintage apartments, you know it’ll all be worthwhile. Sure, it might be a tricky thing to get fully sorted but the final result will be so rewarding and you’ll be able to sit in a contemporary, luxurious apartment and appreciate just how far you’ve come. This has been quite the ordeal because I have always been someone who has lived in furnished or partially furnished places for years. It just makes everything easier when you don’t have to worry about sourcing furniture on top of the stresses that already come with moving house. It’s why I dream of living somewhere like these luxury apartments in downtown cleveland, as when I moved into my new apartment, I didn’t own a single piece of furniture. No couch. No dining room table. No dressers. No bed. No mattress. Nothing.

I was literally working with a blank canvas. Continue reading “Why You Should Invest in Quality Rest”
