What does it mean to be Canadian?

2017 has proven to be an amazing year thus far, and it is really only getting started if you think about it. After enjoying a quintessential Canadian winter, it’s time for us all to stretch and get ready for a sunny and warm spring. With the new season comes a sense of excitement, and I am happy to be able to finally tell you all that we have partnered with CIBC for their #StandForCanada campaign which coincides with #Canada150 & CIBC 150th celebrations taking place across the country. For the next few months, the #DoTheDaniel team will be attending some incredible events and bringing you all BTS with us in the process. Gold medalist Marielle Thompson takes on a new golden opportunity

For those of you who follow along with us on social media, you’ll have seen that we’ve been sharing a lot of exciting #Canada150 moments. Those won’t be slowing down any time soon, and another one just took place today as CIBC announced Gold medalist Marielle Thompson as a CIBC 150 Brand Ambassador. Walking in a Winterlude Wonderland with CIBC

A lot of people don’t realize that although I have made Toronto my home with Julio, and HQ for all things #DoTheDaniel, I have in fact lived in several major Canadian cities in my lifetime. We moved a lot when I was younger because we followed the opportunities that my parents had in their careers. Though it wasn’t always easy, I like to think that it also gave me my sense of adventure while seeing what it meant to grow up Canadian in both Ontario & Québec. While I lived in Ottawa with my parents, I used to look forward to Winterlude every year. From skating on the Rideau Canal, ice sculpture carvings that awe & amaze, to the ample amounts of Beavertails that I used to justify as winter sustenance… it was an exciting time in Ottawa for residents and visitors alike. On Saturday, February 18 (From 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) you’re going to want to head to the Rideau Canal Skateway for CIBC’s Shinny Hockey Day!
