How To Experience My Favourite Hotels From Home

With Pride Month underway, I find myself remembering the days when Julio and I could pamper ourselves at our favourite hotels in the city. While those moments are still on the horizon, there are some really great ways that we can and have been enjoying our favourite hotels that might surprise you and I thought I’d share with you all!

Fairmont Royal York

While COVID ruined our plans to celebrate Julio’s birthday at this iconic Toronto establishment for a much needed getaway, I know that we’ll book again the moment we can. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the hotel is known not just for its fascade, but lately also for their charitable work to help front line workers. Fans of the hotel far and wide have missed their high tea and can now enjoy this experience from home.

The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto

I will always have a special place in my heart for this hotel – it was one of the first places Julio and I celebrated a romantic night away when we started dating. Located inside is some of the best food I’ve ever eaten – alongside memories such as meeting Sarah McLachlan with Catherine! TOCA now offers takeout on their unparalleled dinning experience for you to enjoy at home – it’s a MUST.

One King West Hotel

Another hotel that I was so excited for a staycation at, this hotel holds such a special part in my heart because Catherine and I actually had an office here for a long time in the early days of DTD. Now fabulously awaiting the day guests can pamper themselves, takeout is available for pickup and these photos will definitely convince you why it’s a must. Can we say #BrunchGoals?!

Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto

Let’s talk luxury – it’s clearly been WAY too long since I stayed at Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto and now I can’t wait to get back. Maybe this time, it’s for self care by myself. That’s always something that I encourage too you know. The incredible establishment is bringing you some of the best food I’ve eaten in Toronto and trust me when I say this is a meal you won’t soon forget from the comfort of your own home.

At the end of the day, the food and hospitality industry were some of the hardest hit in Toronto and the country. By supporting them from home while we all wait to return for a stay, you’re helping real Canadians stay afloat and keep their jobs. So let’s get out there and sample some of the best Toronto has to offer!
