Make The Season Bright with These Gift Ideas

It’s that time of year again my friends. The holidays are quickly on the way, and while I love the season, I know how overwhelming it can all be. Who wants to run around the city to fifty different stores to find the perfect gift for those special people in your life? Not me, that’s for sure!

I remember going to the Rideau Centre in Ottawa with Catherine when we lived in the city. We always made our way to Indigo Chapters at the corner of Rideau & Sussex to grab some Starbucks, but also to peruse the latest books and home decor items. It became not only a familiar place for us to frequent, but it was a must for the holidays. I find myself spending hours in the store when holiday items hit the shelves because I know I can knock off half of my shopping list in one convenient place.

First of all, in my opinion, they have the best and most beautiful Christmas cards. Yes, I am one of those people who sends our Christmas cards every year and I take it all very seriously. I take my time selection the perfect card to send to loved ones around the world from Julio, Canela & I. I’m a sucker for foiled cards, but thankfully I don’t put glitter in them anymore. I realized it may not make everyone as happy as it makes me…

Gifts for the men in my life always seem to take a bit more thought. From BEATS SOLO 3 WIRELESS ON-EAR HEADPHONES – GLOSS BLACK, to MINI TIN CANDLE – SILVER BIRCH & JUNIPER, there are so many options available to make those men smile this holiday season.

If you’re like me, it sometimes feels easier to buy for the children in my life. Especially with so many amazing toys and items available this season! Now I’ll be honest that we don’t have children yet, so the Top 10 List helps me to decide what to get our niece Rebecca. But KID MADE MODERN – STUDIO IN A BOX reminds me of my childhood and books are always a must because I believe in the power of reading more now than I ever have.

Now when I stop to think of the ladies in my life, it’s all about gifts that remind them how important they are to me. My mom will love gifts such as Jann Arden’s new book, while Catherine is more likely to appreciate a NEON HEART TABLE LAMP.

And of course, for those of you like me who are attending a lot of dinners and get togethers with friends, stocking stuffers are a perfect way to get a meaningful gift without breaking the bank.

I love to shop and support businesses that know who I am as a shopper. That understand the needs I have, especially during the holidays. And so I can say with certainty, that yet again this year I will be shopping for the majority of my family and friends at my local store. And if I can’t find something that fits my needs, there’s always the opportunity to buy those highly coveted gift cards!
