As someone who calls Toronto home, I am always curious about what to do when I have down time or want to create memorable experiences on a date or with my friends. Although I love spoiling those I love with meals and movies, sometimes it can be fun to think outside of the box a little bit. Recently Annick and I had the pleasure of visiting one of Toronto’s newest museums and, let’s just say it made us rethink how we see things. From Instagrammable moments to puzzling perspectives, The Museum of Illusions in Toronto is something you’re going to have to see for yourself to understand.
Although I am a self-admitted romantic, I also really like when things are logical and go the way I want them to. I’ve never been a huge fan of optical illusions, but as I’ve grown up and started to see the world differently, you could say they have started to take on new meaning. I like puzzles. I like happy endings. I like order and stability – despite how some people might believe the opposite. So when you put someone like me in an immersive museum experience like Museum of Illusions in Toronto and ask me to not get my mind blown by the exhibits, chances are I’m going to have a hard time not smiling and freaking out. Annick and I ended up going through the museum twice over to experience it all again because it was so amazing!
I love the idea of going back with Catherine and my family when they come to Toronto. The mind boggling moments like the photo above really make you stop and think. I will say that The Vortex spinning exhibit is a doozy and made me a bit dizzy, but the whole experience left us laughing, and trying to wrap our heads around the way the museum makes their exhibits so fun for guests of all ages. Here are a few moments that people who have visited the museum have been sharing on social media now that the permanent location has opened its doors.
