Family Lifestyle | #EtsyMadeInCanada – Ottawa

I think I’m still feeling a high from the Ottawa event last Saturday! On September 27th, in cities all across Canada, Etsy held a one of a kind event showcasing local talents. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend in Ottawa, which lucky for me happened to be the largest one! With 158 vendors listed to be showcased, I knew I was in for a FUN morning! I wanted to make sure I got there nice and early so that I could see all that the vendors had to offer. When I arrived at 9am, there was ALREADY a line AROUND THE BUILDING! Such an awesome turn out to support our local community and vendors. I walked in and my eyes went EVERYWHERE! I saw sooo much pretty! I knew I wanted to find some especially unique items that I could feature just for you in case you didn’t have a chance to attend! Here, in no particular order, are some of my favourites! Family Lifestyle | #EtsyMadeInCanada

I’ve posted about Etsy before and now they’re gearing up to host an event like none other! The first ever Etsy Made In Canada! On Saturday, September 27th, 23 locations across Canada will host a one-day marketplace, bringing together local Etsy sellers and communities in celebration of the country’s maker movement! There will be large markets at MaRS (135 local Etsy sellers) and OCAD in Toronto, and Ottawa is actually hosting the largest of the markets across Canada, featuring 158 local Etsy sellers at Bell Sensplex! Can you say WOW?! What an opportunity to find some completely unique items and, my favourite part, save on the shipping! With 158 local Etsy sellers under one roof, just think of all the fun things you’ll find!

Family Lifestyle | #FallForWHEAT

So since now Lyric is in school every day… I get to dress him, EVERY DAY! hahaha! I know what you’re thinking… didn’t you dress him every day before? Well, yes.. but some of those days we were dressed in pajamas, that just happened to be worn to bed the night before. (no, we didn’t leave the house) You know you’ve been there. I’ve mentioned before how boy’s clothes have come a LONG way, and I absolutely LOVE shopping for and styling Lyric. I know there will come a day when he’ll want to pick his own clothes, and I’m almost certain it’ll be “comfy pants” (pants with elastic waists). ugh. But lucky for me, WHEAT has thought of everything! They’ve designed clothes that are both fashionable AND built for play!

Family Lifestyle | TOMS

Lyric has now officially started full day school (insert LOTS of tears here), and while it’s been a HUGE transition, I think I’m finally starting to get into the swing of this new schedule! One of the things I learned during our intake interview was that Lyric would be changing his shoes about 8 times a day. EIGHT!?! And as we know, he doesn’t really like shoes, he’s a flip flop kid, so he doesn’t get a lot of practice putting shoes on. I immediately looked at his current shoe collection (remember that shopping problem from my previous post?), and got started on him taking them all on and off. Some were easier than others, and some were just not going to happen at all! One of the easiest pairs were TOMS!
