When it comes to Cannabis in Canada, I think we as a society are finally coming to a place where we can have a conversation about it calmly. At least in my mind, gone are the days where we avoid the subject around our families, schools and you experience it for the first time smoking a joint secretly in your teens. From the advances of legalization from coast to coast, to the ample variety of consumer good, the topic is now so much more than getting high. So in an effort to keep the conversation moving forward I thought I would share 3 things you didn’t know about edibles and why I enjoy them!

Whether you’re a regular smoker, are in the process of finding a good rig to use, or never want to touch the drug, one thing we can all agree with is that there are countless products on the market that all make different claims. Today, we’re going to be looking into these claims.
October 17th is not only my birthday but effectively two years ago in Canada, it was also the institution of The Cannabis Act. It does not escape me how funny it is that for the rest of my life my birthday will be associated with Canada leading the understanding, research, sale, and production of Cannabis and Cannabis products with cannabis banking solutions being an actual legitimate business. On the morning of yet another update to the act, and the ability for the industry to begin selling edibles, I wanted to share several brands that I feel deserve your attention.

Wait, my what?
Something I very likely know nothing about is out of balance? Okay, time to panic, right?! Well, first off, take a deep breath ‘cause you’re gonna be just fine. But second, I’ve got you. ‘Cause I’m here to offer my knowledge and expertise as a certified health professional who has spent many years studying and working on the human body (get those dirty thoughts out of your head, please) and its many complex and diverse systems.
Also, I absolutely love nerding-out on science so that I can make it much easier to absorb for those of you who aren’t things like biochemists or medical doctors. And let’s be honest, you shouldn’t have to be one in order to understand what the heck is happening in your body and with your health. Coming Out Of The Cannabis Closet
Well, I guess now is as good a time as ever to address the green elephant in the room. On October 17th, Cannabis will be legalized in Canada and it’s time we spoke about what that means. A not too dissimilar situation is occurring in Ohio. Although, it is only legal for an Ohio dispensary to provide marijuana for medicinal use. I like to think that over the years, with the help of our incredible Contributors and staff members, we’ve been able to dispel a lot of myths or preconceptions on some pretty controversial topics. Being that Cannabis is THE hot topic right now, I felt it important to address it as both a budding industry, coming to us coast-to-coast, but also as a conversation topic that we don’t need to be scared to talk about anymore. Some people have realized the health benefits of using cannabis substances such as CBD, and THC as well as trying their best to educate members of the public through places online as well as guides such as a guide to concentrates which looks at the different types of strains available and their effects and benefits. The age of vilified cannabis use is hopefully coming to an end, and thanks to the team at Emerald Health Therapeutics, I was recently able to educate myself properly on the subject matter. Now that I’ve had time to digest the information, I wanted to take the time to share this topic with all of you for the first time. October 17th is coming, whether you like it or not, so why wouldn’t we help to educate each other as best as we can? Continue reading “Coming Out Of The Cannabis Closet”
