Remembering What The Holidays Really Mean

Lately I’ve been looking back on some of my favourite Christmas memories while growing up. Every year, my Dad would be the one to “play Santa”, handing out gifts to us one at a time when the time came. He used to pride himself in saying that each gift he handed out from under the tree was “A NEW CAR!” The joke now continues with my brother and his growing family, and even Julio joins in on saying it now. They all know it used to drive me crazy, but now I smile every time because it is a fond memory that I hold dear. My mom would be in charge of the stockings, and every year we could expect a few staple items to be waiting for us on Christmas morning in them. One of those things that I look forward to every year is getting a box of Ferrero Rocher. As an adult, they now remind me of the holidays and savoring each of them for as long as I could once the box was opened. This year, we are sharing some of the new items available for the holidays, and all I can say is I hope my mom is reading this. Hint hint!  Continue reading “Remembering What The Holidays Really Mean”

A Canadian Classic You’ve Got to Try

Now that I am back home and starting to plan out my holiday menus for family and friends, it’s time to start thinking about what I will be serving. I LOVE being the host for the holidays. I take a lot of pride in creating special memories for those I love. From the delicious food, to classic cocktails, the holidays are about special moments for me as I get older. J.P. Wiser’s brought Catherine along on a special trip earlier this year, and I recently found my own bottle of J.P. Wiser’s Triple Barrel Rye while tidying up the office. Yes, I keep the special bottles in the office until we move. Can you tell we need more space? So I thought I’d share a holiday classic just in time for the holidays that we can all enjoy together. Help us #ChampionHer all year long

There is so much happening in the world today, and I believe that we sometimes forget to share and celebrate the good all around us. From supporting charities around the world, to enjoying the simple things in life like Canadian Cheese with friends, I try my best to focus on the positive. My Dad used to always say that you get what you give. So I want to help inspire you as you read this blog post with something that touched my heart and I feel is worth sharing.  Continue reading “Help us #ChampionHer all year long”

Surprise! We’re moving into our new home for the holidays!

Over the last few months, you’ve been following our story as Julio and I spent months navigating the Toronto housing market in collaboration with Engel & Vo?lkers. Our mission: to find a family-friendly unit that would be the perfect starter home for Canela, Julio and I as we expand our growing family (yes, you read that right!). We learned quickly that family-friendly units in Toronto are in short supply. Our real estate advisor, Shawn Blander, of Engel & Völkers Toronto Uptown proved to be an asset in a market that is really competitive right now, but we’ll get to that later. After months of searching, we’re SO excited to announce that we finally found the perfect home! Just in time to be the best Christmas present from ourselves to ourselves. I can’t wait until we can have a housewarming party so we can show our friends and family our new home. A couple of our friends have moved into a new house too and I’ve heard about a gift Source website where I can buy a fabulous gift for them and their new place. Continue reading “Surprise!
