Celebrating 10+ years of #DoTheDaniel
Lately, I’ve been working overtime to keep up; juggling two full-time jobs, plus trying to stay on top of my health and fitness game isn’t easy. Most days, weekends included, I operate in overdrive. So I was ecstatic when I received the invite to attend a wellness weekend in Montebello, Quebec with Ford Canada. My body desperately craved some much needed rest and relaxation. How did Ford know I needed a weekend just to chill out?
Oh no! Not a political post. Well, not really. Bear with me. I wanted to share with you the journey my heart went on recently while travelling abroad and how much more connected I feel to human beings after this experience. I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling like the world has been in trouble for a while, but especially since the American election last fall. We are all human yet we stand divided by gender, culture, race, class, sexual orientation, education, finances, fitness levels, marital status, shoe size and a plethora of other factors. Hatred is on the rise. Human beings are being hurt physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually all over the world. The world feels unsafe for so many of us.
If you have been following along with my travels, you are probably thinking, “that Liam, he is the master of surprise, he took his friend on a lovely trip to Norway and they had the experience of a lifetime”. What you probably don’t realize is that it was a retaliation. We are in a war of who can out-do the other with the best surprise holidays and all I can say is – game on. But first let me tell you about how this all started.
Some may say that living in a place like Playa del Carmen, with the beautiful beach and surrounded by nature is all you need to enjoy a plenty, wonderful and relaxed life right? But what about all those simple but yet important details that make life not only good but extraordinary? Is it possible to get an “upgrade” from good to wonderful – even in paradise? Yes, it is! A wild adventure can also be lived in luxury and comfort!
