C’Mon Barbie, Let’s Go Party!

It is no shock that this blog is essentially a Barbie fangirl page – over the years I’ve spoken about how as a little boy my Jem and The Holograms Barbie was my favourite toy, and let’s be honest, Barbie to this day at the toy and brand that speaks to so many of us in different ways. From our collection of Barbies and the dolls from the extended family, this blog and our home will forever preach the importance of inclusivity and diversity that we’ve seen over the years with my favourite blonde bombshell.

Recently it seems as though Barbie is back to IRL events along with us all and I simply had to tell you about some of my personal favourite collaborations to inspire your pink fantasy!

There’s Nothing Quite Like a Thank You from Barbie herself

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of sharing some inspiring moments and events. When the world was completely turned upside down (and continues to be) by the pandemic it helped me to stop and think about where my attention was and where it should be focused. And while this is my perspective and yours can be completely different, I’m proud to be sharing more about the things and people that make me happy. Like Barbie.

Sharing Inspiration with My Niece

International Women’s Day is something that really inspires me. Though I cannot know what it’s like to be a woman in this world, especially with everything happening right now, I am inspired by the women in my life who have shaped me. My mother has the most consistent woman in my life and has helped me learn that life isn’t always fair, but that I can persevere no matter what comes my way. Catherine has helped to keep me kind in the face of situations that could have made me an angry and bitter person. She is as close to a sibling as she can be and knows me more than anyone else, and I could never express how much she inspires me to be better everyday. The powerful women of Do The Daniel show me the strength they each offer in this big beautiful world and their ability to navigate their respective lives while bringing their voice to our brand bring a tear to my eye. Let’s of course not forget my niece Rebecca. At three years old, she represents the future and all the possibilities it holds for women around the world.  Continue reading “Sharing Inspiration with My Niece”

Travel & Lifestyle | When worlds collide – Hudson’s Bay x Barbie

There are a few things that I consider to be quintessentially Canadian. In many way, Canada was historically founded by the Hudson’s Bay and since that time, it has helped to shape and mold our country into the great white north. Recently, Hudson’s Bay announced that they will be releasing a limited edition Barbie adorned in the iconic Hudson’s Bay stripes. I could not be more excited about getting my hands on one! I believe that Barbie has the power to help shape the children of Canada with their ideals and toys. Their recent campaigns are aimed at empowering young girls and boys to be whatever they want to be – so why not embrace all it means to be Canadian along with us by getting yours before they sell out!  Continue reading “Travel & Lifestyle | When worlds collide – Hudson’s Bay x Barbie”
