What Does It Mean To Be Mindful?

For those of you who follow along with us on social media, you’ll have noticed that recently I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Capital One Canada at The Broadview Hotel here in Toronto. Centered around the idea of mindfulness, something that I’ll be honest I haven’t always been very good at, it turned out to be one of the most inspiring moments I have had in a very long time. Not only reminding me what it was like to reconnect with my friends in this industry, it also provided me with some concrete tools to be more mindful in my day-to-day life. As we get closer to the excitement of Credit Education Week, I thought I would share my five tips to #MoneyMindfulness with you all in hopes that just like how Capital One Canada inspired me to be better, I can do the same for you heading into the holiday season. Something To Think About

As someone who calls Toronto home, I am always curious about what to do when I have down time or want to create memorable experiences on a date or with my friends. Although I love spoiling those I love with meals and movies, sometimes it can be fun to think outside of the box a little bit. Recently Annick and I had the pleasure of visiting one of Toronto’s newest museums and, let’s just say it made us rethink how we see things. My Happiest Holiday Memories Might Surprise You

There are fews things that I love more than memories. I’m a hopeless romantic and a sentimentalist. I associate items, songs and places with people. I can look at a napkin I kept from a restaurant that I keep in a memory box and remember how it felt to enjoy a meal with someone and the moment I realized I loved them. It seems silly, but that’s just how I see the world – full of beautiful moments that I carry with me. It’s not the tree or the onesies (though both important of course) but rather the simple moments with those I love that help to remind me of what is important.  Continue reading “My Happiest Holiday Memories Might Surprise You”

A Beautiful Change Of Pace

Today I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge all the people that help to make DoTheDaniel.com a success around the world. It’s not just the #DTDteam as we continue to grow and expand, but it is also the friends and family that support us. It’s you the reader, and of course the brands that work with us to make us look and feel our best. At the end of the day, I spend a lot of time in the public eye and I want to always feel my best. That being said, as I’ve gotten older, I have come to realize that the choices I make should be responsible ones. From supporting eco-friendly and socially responsible brands such as Outland Denim (click here to read about them if you haven’t yet) to the salon I frequent to keep my wild head of hair tamed, life is about making the right decisions lately. So it’s why I am excited to announce that we’ve partnered with worldSALON here in Toronto as our salon of choice. And there are quite a few reasons why this change is for the better.  Continue reading “A Beautiful Change Of Pace”
