Canada’s Wonderland is Back, and so is The #WonderCrew!

With the excitement of the summer, of the freedom that vaccinations are bringing, and just a general sense of overwhelming relief comes signs that life’s beautiful moments are coming back as well. From being able to see my niece and nephew outside for family BBQs months after moving to Ottawa, to resuming one of my absolute favourite parts of the warmer weather in Ontario – yes, you guessed it. Canada’s Wonderland is safely re-opening and with that comes another year of Julio & I joining the #WonderCrew. So get ready for many more rollercoaster photos, BTS moments, food and so much laughter in the sun.

Here’s why I’m not keeping anymore beauty secrets

Recently Julio has been sharing a lot about beauty and celebrity culture online via his social media channels and it really got me thinking. For years I’ve read and written about ‘beauty secrets’ because that was the narrative of the time we lived in. We have been programmed as a society to search out those miracle beauty treatments and quick fixes that can make us look like those magazine covers and celebrities and for so long we all thought that one cream, one treatment, one food could make it all better. I’m here to tell you that the fact is there isn’t one beauty trick that can help you look like Jennifer L. (don’t feel like getting sued) and, trust me, it’s not just olive oil. It’s a lot of moving pieces and turns out, I’m okay with talking about it.

Toronto is about to get a HUGE outdoor circus experience you don’t want to miss!

While Ottawa is home, I still often find myself checking in on the scene in Toronto. Not only because it’s where I can see my husband amid all of this, but because that city will always hold a special place in my heart. Thankfully small breaks in a busy schedule allow me to come back for visits and this summer I am lucky enough to be getting a preview of Together Apart, Summer Cirque 2021 – and trust me when I say that this is going to be one of the hottest experiences this summer!

Like That Moment Right Before a Firecracker Goes Off…

The month of May is coming to a close, and with it there seems to be electric energy in the air. With re-opening plans slowly being laid out for all of us anxiously wanting to be done with pandemic restrictions, not to mention with #PrideMonth around the corner, there’s a lot to be happily looking forward to. From upcoming prolonged hugs with my dear friends, to dusting off our wigs and heels, things are about to get a whole lot more fabulous here at the blog and via my social media. Here are just a few things that you can get yourself to enjoy the festivities like I will be all June long!
