Now, I’m pretty sure you’ve noticed by now that I have a thing for kid’s shoes. But I bet you didn’t know that Lyric’s very FIRST pair of shoes, were Converse! Pretty much as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I went online and ordered the smallest pair of Classic Converse Chuck Taylor‘s they make! Let me tell you.. they were ADORABLE! I remember getting them in the mail, opening them up and placing them on my (HUGE) belly in anticipation!

Converse is one of those brands that goes beyond iconic. A little back history… Founded in 1908, “the company was a rubber shoe manufacturer, providing winterized rubber soled footwear for men, women, and children. By 1910, Converse was producing 4,000 shoes daily, but it was not until 1915 that the company began manufacturing athletic shoes for tennis. The company’s main turning point came in 1917 when the Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced. Then in 1921, a basketball player named Charles H. “Chuck” Taylor walked into Converse complaining of sore feet. Converse gave him a job: He worked as a salesman and ambassador, promoting the shoes around the United States, and in 1932 Taylor’s signature was added to the All Star patch on the classic, high-topped sneakers.” So neat, I had no clue!
Fast forward to fall 2014. Converse introduces the sneaker-boot. A combat boot styling with a shearling lining. Honestly.. this is the PERFECT boot for the stylish lil one like Lyric out there! I get to keep his feet warm, and his fashion on point! These boots come with a zipper up the side to make them easy to put on, and they’re made of durable leather, which provides some water resistance.

Now, Lyric isn’t the only one who gets to be stylish, this Mama tries her best too! When I saw these in the picture, I immediately thought they looked like a sock monkey! Then they arrived… and they’re knit. Like actual wool! I died!!! They’re comfortable, perfect for the drop off/pick up at school and I love that they make a statement (without being loud). Some of you know that I do my best to stay in flip flops until the snow sticks, but I’m all about these now!
We make a cute pair. There’s just something about a brand that covers both the parent and the child. Not only is it a one stop shop for shoes for the entire family, but you could always do the matchy thing too! Choose a classic style in the same colour and your and your mini me will make the perfect pair!
