A New Look For A New Year

New year, new you, new beauty faves. Whether you’re looking for a casual dewy look, or a night on the town/full glam moment, Wet n Wild has got all your beauty needs covered. Wet n Wild is a high quality, affordable, certified cruelty free (by PETA’s With Out Bunnies program) cosmetic company–and is a personal favourite brand of mine. So in my first #BeautyWithBeth blog post, I wanted to create two easy looks that you can recreate in just a few easy steps. After you are done, pair them with some Instagramable colored contacts to make your eyes pop and you’ve got your look!

I’ve really been feeling the fresh-faced, glowing-from-within, dewy look lately, and have found myself reaching for Wet n Wild to create the look. Here’s what I use, and how I create my perfect, natural looking glow.

I love using my Megaglo Hello Halo liquid highlighter, in Goddess Glow, on my cheekbones, nose, chin, and inner eye, to add a pop of shimmer and dewiness to the skin. But, if you’re looking for a more all-over luminous glow, this product works wonderfully, in addition to your everyday foundation. Just add a few dots to liquid foundation, and you’ll look fresh all day.

The blush I’ve been reaching for is the ColorIcon Ombré Blush, in the Princess Daiquiris. This blush has tiny specks of shimmer in it, resulting in a satiny smooth finish. It’s also very lightweight, and easy to blend into the skin. With this look I forgo eyeshadow, instead taking another Megaglo Hello Halo liquid highlighter, usually Rosy and Ready because I love dusty pink tones. Just a few dots on the centre of my eyelid, and I blend using my finger. To finish the look off, I apply a coat of mascara, and grab a-super hydrating-Pout & Shock gel lip balm. My go to is in the shade Rule, which is a deep purple in the stick, but melts into a beautiful berry on the lip.

Wet n Wild also has eyeshadow quads, and my favourite for a night out is-obviously-the Night Quad. This palette features a matte beige, and brown, and a shimmery black and silver. The look I created to show you is fairly dramatic, and definitely alterable depending on your personal taste. These shadows are soft, and easy to build up, and blend out, to create the perfect smoky eye. Every dramatic look calls for a dramatic highlight, and Megaglo Highlighting powder, in Glow Watcher, is seriously dramatic.

This powder highlight packs some serious punch. The shade I use is a stunning icy silver, which creates the perfect blinding highlight. I usually spray my brush with setting spray, before applying highlight, to get the most strobing effect possible, however, this highlighter really doesn’t need any help to be its most magnificent and sparkly self. I complete the look using Megalast lip colour in Stoplight Red, topped with Liquid Catsuit lip topper in Flames of Glory.

I personally believe that the start of a new year is the perfect time to mix up your look and put the fresh new you forward. With each new year we are given a chance to change, grow, and try new things; new workout routine, new coffee shop, or new look. So, if you’re in the market for a new makeup look, I highly recommend checking out some of these Wet n Wild goodies.
