Because Women Kick Ass

Here’s to strong women – may we know them, may we be them and may we raise them! If you’re looking to celebrate International Women’s Day this year on March 8th for International Women’s Day, then look no further. If you live in Toronto, you’re likely inundated on the daily with events, festivals and shows going on all around the city. I actually find it quite tough to pick between what to hit or what to miss. But, I always know that if there’s an event at or hosted by The Drake, it’s one I wanna be at hands-down. So, that’s why I thought I would share a bit about some of the upcoming events that will be celebrating all things women this month!

I’m not sure if I could be more excited for this one, folks. I love the idea of people who identify as female from all walks of life, different backgrounds and cultures, coming together to talk about some of the issues that may tie or divide us – but with the collective goal of connection. This interactive cocktail night in celebration of women, and in support of women at one of Toronto’s trendiest venues, will have all proceeds from the event donated to Toronto women’s drop-in centre, Sistering.

Your ticket to this event includes some kick-ass women-power themed cocktails and tasty appetizers, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts, created and served by the award-winning Drake Hotel catering team. You’ll also get sweet swag bag, including items from natural brands like Province Apothecary, Sweet Spot Labs, Designs for Health, CanPrev, NFH and many more. And if that’s not enough. you’ll be entered in for a chance to win some awesome prizes from Brass and Unity, I Love My Muff, Province Apothecary, Float TO, gift baskets galore, dinner for 2 at the Drake… and many more!

Sunday Wine Social With The Grape Witches

Venue: Drake One Fifty, Toronto

Cover: TBD

March 11, 2018, 6 p.m.

It’s time to rally your fellow wine women and join The Drake and The Grape Witches for a class that’ll get you up to snuff on all things wine. With their growing coven, The Grape Witches are passionate about wine, sweet times and rad spaces. Run by Krysta and Nicole, they’re real life best friends who have worked in the wine industry for a long time!

By educating people on low intervention, natural wines made by people around the world, they’re working on making it less confusing for consumers. After this witchy wine event, you can stick around and enjoy your favourite bin-end selection at half price. Come share the magic of wine, which involves a lot of wild laughter, smirking, trouble, life-altering flavour and community – if you let it.

Happy International Women’s Day! See you there!
