Basking In #BackItStyle2019 – Toronto’s Most Experienced TIFF Gifting Lounge

They always say you’re not supposed to pick favourites. Don’t say the word best. Don’t prioritize one experience over others.. but sometimes I have to disagree. I’ve attend a lot of TIFF gifting lounges and celebrity experiences in my career as a blogger – and most of them have been spectacular experiences leaving me spoiled and feeling appreciated for the work I do.

The Places & Faces of TIFF 2019

I think that after five years, it can be said with certainty that The Toronto International Film Festival is one of my favourite times of the year. Albeit full of running between screenings and events, it is also one of the most exciting times as someone who calls Toronto home. The whole world watches as stars arrive, walk the red carpets and wine and dine around the city I call home. How One Night in Toronto Changed Everything

Now, let me set the scene for you. It’s the early 2000’s and I’m the lead singer of a rock band, all the while trying to make money working at a local record store. Almost every night, you can find me scoping out the latest show in town – from metal to emo, hardcore to indie, and everything in between. I spent years travelling to different cities with friends so that we could follow our favourite bands around. Each song bringing me closer to new inspiration, each performance to new feelings and even some venues to new friends.

Decisions Decisions

At thirty five years old in the heart of the summer, I find myself googling costume ideas. No, not for October 31st. But for August 22-25th in the heart of Toronto. Why you ask? Well it’s one of my favourite times of year again – it’s FAN EXPO Canada. From Pokémon to Nintendo, cosplay to fan art, we’re in for one of the best #FANEXPOcanada years yet and I’m here to tell you why.
