Family Lifestyle | Abundance Naturally

Ever since Lyric was very little (cause, you know, he’s so big now. haha), he’s had very sensitive skin. Maybe it’s because he’s mixed, maybe it’s our environment, either way I’ve had to be very selective in the things I put on his body. Without nightly cream, his skin becomes very dry and he’ll scratch himself in his sleep until he’s cut. That all being said, when I came upon a brand that was based on all natural products, I knew this was going to be just perfect for Lyric!

Abundance Naturally is a family owned Canadian based company that has a passion for how pure, natural ingredients could help the body nourish and heal itself.  One of their product lines they’re most known for is Thursday Plantation, their tea tree oil products. Now, I’m no Catherine’s Cabinet, so I had to google what exactly tea tree oil is. As it turns out, “tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree. The tea tree was named by eighteenth century sailors, who made tea that smelled like nutmeg from the leaves of the tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast. Do not confuse the tea tree with the unrelated common tea plant that is used to make black and green teas.” (WebMD) It can be applied to the skin for all kinds of infections and even added to a bath to help with cough, bronchial congestion, and pulmonary inflammation. Which is perfect timing, as the house has all come down with the dreaded summer cold! There is also a head lice kit, but let’s PRAY I never need to use it! hehe

I’ve also been using their eco.kid line of shampoo and conditioner on Lyric’s mane, and it’s been AMAZING! I have tried soo many different products to try and tame his hair and I can say that this leaves his hair feeling amazing and practically tangle free, which if you’ve ever seen Lyric’s hair, is impressive!! “eco.kid is an organic, healthier, biologically friendlier and more effective product range formulated exclusively for the hair, scalp and skin of children aged 3 to 12 years old – through a clear understanding of children’s unique needs, eco.kid was formulated to help address common problems faced by this age group including dry scalp, cradle cap, head lice, dry skin and skin irritation.” (Abundance Naturally) They’ve really taken into account the difference between a child’s head and skin vs an adult. “A child’s skin and scalp produces almost six times less oil on a daily basis than an adult’s skin and without that oil barrier, the ability of a child’s skin and scalp to absorb synthetic chemicals, artificial preservatives and in some cases natural chemicals is far greater than an adult and may interfere with their natural hormonal development.” Wow, right?! Now I feel bad for having been using my shampoo and conditioner on his head prior to this! Oopsies! Parenthood is such a live and learn kind of experience! When you know better, you do better!

Make sure you check out all their natural products for both kids and adults alike on their website, www.abundancenaturally.com.
