As October slowly wraps itself around me like all the warm sweaters and blankets I am excited to be able to cozy up with, it’s time to start talking about my absolute FAVOURITE wardrobe season. The autumn is here and with it comes beautiful layers, button up shirts with a bit of flare to express myself at the office, and some must have items that I simply have to have to look and feel my best.
We all know that I am lucky enough to be married to a fashion blogger and educator – and while he is the fashionista in our home – I’ve come to learn a thing or two about style and dressing for my body over the years. I think the most important lesson I have learned is that quality of clothing is important vs a price that (most of the time) is too good to be true. I mean look at the Canadian retail world right now. That lesson is unfortunately coming to life for brands that many of us use to consume and dispose without a second thought. But the world is becoming a smaller place, Canadians have become more savvy, and brands that create quality items are surviving this current shift in the Canadian retail world.
Now it’s no shock that when it comes to updating my wardrobe, especially in the fall, LE CHÂTEAU is a go to. Not only was it that way in my twenties when I was a student at Carleton University, but it is also now when I need office clothes. In my opinion that is also the sign of a strong clothing company – one that can evolve with me as I do the same.
My must have items (not shocking for those of you who know me) are clothing items for the office that allow me to express myself and show my personality. From the iconic Pink Velvet Slim Fit Blazer that I have been coveting for almost a year, to printed button up dress shirts for a playful pattern under a more subdued blazer, I always end up finding items that make me feel handsome and put together. But then again, I always ending buying an extra item or two when I visit my local store. Their fashion is just too good to leave behind!
