It’s probably one of my favourite times of the year. On any given day in late autumn I’ll grab my daily coffee at Starbucks during a busy day, and then, just like that … the next morning when I return to the same location, it’s magic. The entire store is decked out in its holiday version full of joy and all the things that get me excited for the snowy months ahead. From Christmas Blend to the big reveal of the holiday cup design, the memories that Starbucks Canada creates for me are some of my favourite holiday moments of all!
SOOOOO let’s first talk about this year’s holiday cup. This year there are four new cup designs* that evoke mini moments of joy for our customers and partners – it’s fun, festive and uniquely Starbucks. The designs are called Polka Dots, Merry Dance, Merry Stripes and Candy Cane Stripe.
Polka Dots: The traditional Starbucks red cup is dotted with green, with the Siren logo playfully popping in here and there. Perfectly paired with a festive Peppermint Mocha if you ask me ?
Merry Dance: A lively pairing of red and green letters that jazz up a snowy white cup with a joyful holiday sentiment. Enjoy a Gingerbread Latte with this cup one a romantic walk in the snow!
Merry Stripes*: From a distance, this cup looks like it’s wrapped in a green vintage wrapping paper. But up close, its tiny type offers a happy holiday sentiment. I see myself enjoying quite a few Caramel Brûlé Lattes in this evergreen themes beauty.
*Not available in Quebec
Candy Cane Stripe: The colours of the holiday all come together with this design as the Starbucks wordmark falls like snow against stripes of candy can red and white. Being that Candy Canes are the best part of a Christmas Tree in my opinion, this is my favourite of the four designs. But the question is will I sip a Chestnut Praline Latte or an Eggnog Latte from it first? ?
But of course, let’s remember that the best cup is a reusable one, and Starbucks is giving away a free limited-edition reusable holiday cup* to customers who order a holiday beverage at participating Starbucks stores on Nov. 7, while supplies last.
AND when we bring back our 2019 reusable holiday cup to a participating Starbucks store after 2 p.m. Nov. 7 through Jan. 7 will get 50 cents off their handcrafted grande (16-ounce) holiday beverage. A win-win just in time for the holidays!
Can’t get enough Starbucks holiday? You can find the delicious flavors of the season where you buy groceries in roast & ground, VIA, K-Cup and ready-to-drink. All of which are delicious ways to enjoy some of my favourite coffee during the holidays and all year long!
