Working through the challenging moments of 2020 has definitely taught me a lot about myself. From the every day stresses of paying bills and working from home, to the bigger thoughts of what’s 2021 going to be like, something I now know is that it is important to disconnect. Over the last few months Julio and I have been showcasing some ways to relax and have a change of scenery, and this past weekend we did just that on a #Staycation fit for a Queen.
As you would have seen on social media, our little family checked in to the Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto for one of the most relaxing weekends I have had in a long time. Steps away from public transit, and as close to the waterfront as you’re going to get in the city, this Toronto hotel icon has stood the test of time.
I’ve stayed many times before for conferences and have even spoken on panels that were hosted in the boardrooms, but this was the first time I had the opportunity to stay just for personal reasons. To disconnect from the insanity of 2020 and reconnect with my husband.
This stunning Waterfront hotel has literally some of the best #views I’ve ever experienced and was magnificent to wake up to two days in a row. It’s funny because I love looking out at the skyline of Toronto – I’m a city boy at heard, but to look out on to the lake was magically soothing amid a year that has been anything but.
I love how the Westin Harbour Castle is dog friendly, and while some servives have been modified due to the pandemic, there is so much to see and enjoy in the area that we barely noticed. And can we talk about this heated pool? Finally I could get my hair wet and Julio had to practically drag me out of the water…
Most Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto packages now include complimentary self-parking and breakfast while leisure packages vary depending on what you’re looking to enjoy on your next stay / staycation.
· Starbucks Package – 1 night stay + $10 Starbucks gift card
· Ride or Dine Package – 1night stay + $25 promo code for Uber or Uber Eats
While I want to say that the excitement of 2020 is coming to a close, what I have learned is that anything can happen. So while you are looking at your same four walls and realize you need a change, why not consider treating yourself and your four-legged friends to a change of scenery at a much slower pace.
