Amid the intensity of 2020, I sometimes find myself in a situation where I need to change my perspective or attitude to avoid being overwhelmed.
It hasn’t necessarily been the easiest of years for any of us, to say the least. And while the world is new and we have all shifted our views towards the future and towards change, I am reminded that sometimes something so simple can change my outlook on the day.
Over the years I have come to learn a lot about my sense of smell, and the emotional memory associated with it. A fresh pot of coffee brewing immediately reminds me of my late grandmother and sitting down to chat with her about life.
The zest of a mandarin brings back memories of Christmas as a little boy. Shaving cream, my Dad. And many many more. There is something quite magical in the sense of smell, and I guess that is one reason why I have loved sharing my personal experiences with fragrances over the years.
While recently looking into new fragrances and how I might add them to my life and the life of those I love, I was introduced to the new Aqua Allegoria Collection from Guerlain.
