Family Lifestyle | Music is What Feelings Sounds Like

As a little girl, I was lucky to be surrounded by music. I started dance classes when I was 5, and in middle school I started playing instruments. Still to this day I feel like music is my life’s soundtrack. Hearing “Can’t Touch This” (by none other than MC Hammer), takes me right back to being 8 and doing my tap dance. In the same way, listening to a symphony has me aching to pick up an instrument and start again. Now that I have a lil one, I’ve encouraged him to find a love of music, and to use it to express himself.

Family Lifestyle | Treehouse Big Day Out 2!

If you have a child at all, or even a niece or nephew, I can guarantee you’ve watched Treehouse. The shows have catchy music, sing song style voices and some sweet dance moves too! I know I’ve caught myself after Lyric has left the room, still watching to see if Uniqua and Tyrone are going to find the treasure, or what Toopy and Binoo are going to do! haha! If there was one show Lyric LOOOVED it was The Wiggles! I can sing along with every song, and we always do the dance moves together. Family Lifestyle | #GetKidsCooking

Just last week, Lyric had a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a one-on-one cooking lesson from Logan Guleff, the winner of MasterChef Junior Season 2. A recent survey showed that while 90% of parents believe that teaching kids to cook is an important part of helping them live healthier lives, only 12% let their kids help cook. That’s a HUGE gap! This is when Uncle Ben’s teamed up with Logan in their new campaign, GetKidsCooking.ca!
