So let’s talk about the holidays. If you aren’t already, it’s about time to start feeling festive and getting out the decorations. To plan those sumptuous meals, wrap the gifts, and get ready for one of my favourite seasons. It’s the month of May and I am sitting down to write another chapter in the book I am working on, looking out the window wishing the sunshine would come back. In the city of Toronto, we have had what I can only describe as the most tenacious of winters and it just won’t seem to go away. That being said, with my new schedule and focus on the things I am working towards in my life, I get excited about weekends again. Those two beautiful days (or even better, three for a long weekend!) hold so much possibility and recently I had the pleasure of experiencing a pretty spectacular one that I would love to tell you a bit more about.

Years ago when we adopted Canela from Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary, I could never have known how much a pet could change my life. When I was growing up, we always had cats and she is my first dog ever. She has quickly become of the best things that has ever happened to me. From consoling me when I lost to my dad, to the memories our little family shared over the years, #CanelaReyes still manages to put a smile on my face every time I think about her during a busy day of all things #DoTheDaniel. So this holiday season I wanted to find the perfect gifts to stuff her stocking (yes, a stocking is hung for her so that Santa brings her presents) and so that I can treat her the way she deserves. What My Perfect Day Would Entail
It seems a little self indulgent to be sitting down to write a blog post dedicated to myself, but sometimes I think that putting out your intentions into the universe is a great way of making them come true. October 17th is going to not only mark an exciting time for us as a country with legalization, but it just so happens to be my 35th birthday. Funny to think about that number because for as long as I can remember my “life plan” had me married at 30, with children at 35, owning a home at 40. Life doesn’t always go the way we want it to, but I also know that the path I am on right now is the one that will lead me to my best self. I am working on my physical, emotional and mental wellbeing and I like to think that 35 will be better than 34.
