While Ottawa is home, I still often find myself checking in on the scene in Toronto. Not only because it’s where I can see my husband amid all of this, but because that city will always hold a special place in my heart. Thankfully small breaks in a busy schedule allow me to come back for visits and this summer I am lucky enough to be getting a preview of Together Apart, Summer Cirque 2021 – and trust me when I say that this is going to be one of the hottest experiences this summer!

I know I really try to lean into the light and fun things about life. I love to make you smile with my content and share in the things that bring me joy. That being said, I am a human being (despite what some haters might say) and I do have feelings on both sides of the spectrum. I’m allowed to be sad, and sometimes even be angry. I know that the world has a lot of changing still to do, but this Pride month has proven to be quite challenging (and triggering) for me. Pride Month 2021 is officially here and lately I’ve been leaning into things a little more than when I was living in Toronto. Whether that’s telling the people I love what they mean to me more regularly, or finding the balance between working what seems to be two full time jobs to financially have our kids, I am feeling like my life is evolving more naturally. Like now that I’ve made some big changes and started to believe in myself again, that I can trust my instincts a little more. So I guess this latest partnership and glow up only made sense – plus, I haven’t felt this good in a long time.

The month of May is coming to a close, and with it there seems to be electric energy in the air. With re-opening plans slowly being laid out for all of us anxiously wanting to be done with pandemic restrictions, not to mention with #PrideMonth around the corner, there’s a lot to be happily looking forward to. From upcoming prolonged hugs with my dear friends, to dusting off our wigs and heels, things are about to get a whole lot more fabulous here at the blog and via my social media.
